I agree, seems useless except when towing the boat / horse-box as the previous owner must have done.

easy fix if you dont want to spend money on new ecu and wiring harness


get a white plug and socket a length of 2 core multi strand 1mm flex, a blade fuse holder and fuse, wire it into the rear fuse box
it has a 12v feed straight to the battery,(big red cable under 50amp fuses)
all you need is live and earth .follow the standard wiring below

I had to get a jump start from a kind passer by this morning outside Toys-r-us in Leeds....it doesnt look good when you have a "premium" car that has the bonnet up

The battery and alternator were replaced under warranty 18 months ago so think there's a drain going on. will get the multi-meter and ammeter out when I get chance

but think it will still be a good idea to have the charging socket connected as you said just to keep the battery topped up ready for the heated steering wheel,screens, seats and kids tellys every morning for the 3 mile round trip I do each day......Yes I know that's also why the battery's probably Censored Big Cry
