Can't really go wrong. Its under warranty until December with land rover plenty of time to iron out any problems. You should call the transport depot of the owning force and ask them what work its had. They should tell you if it's had an engine or box. Looks like a bargain to me...

Whites all the rage again as well Thumbs Up

You cant argue with the price. Plus if it's been owned by GMP then they only use these on the motorway (and firearms but they're bullet proof!). Should be light use.

Don't forget that if it IS ex Police then the dashboard will have holes and gaps in it where all the ancillary equipment was mounted. Looks like the front bumper and grill have been replaced as these will have had additional lighting in them too. Worth checking the condition of the roof, who wants a car with bunged holes in the roof? Discovery 4 HSE

The police try and think about resale now where possible. Lights tend to go in cheap to replace items like grills and fog lamps. The newest ones in Manchester now are silver. A lot of forces are buying silver now which I think will eventually devalue the colour...

White is currently popular so it wouldnt put me off but wouldnt be my first choice colour for a FFRR although RRS owners love white

Re the Dash holes, i think there are products out there that fill them

I told you!

They're pretty careful to try and not devalue the car these days. I've noticed on a lot of the high end stuff now the lighting bars are fitted on the roof bars to avoid holes altogether.

Noddys just being cynical! I would take each car on merit. It's under warranty after all and they do tend to look after traffic cars much better. I wouldn't however touch any general patrol stuff (astra's etc) they get treated like Censored and are raced 24 hours a day!

Funny you should mention that, Northumbria used to use 1.4 Focus CL's as the normal panda cars and they seemed to go everywhere in 2nd gear. You'd often hear them screaming along the road only to be doing about 30 Laughing

Stupidly, a mate of mine bought on, it was totally shagged, looked like it'd been a hire car used as a taxi and driven by a 17 year old. Mind you, it was cheap. 2006 Mercedes CLS

2006 Range Rover Vogue SE Supercharged Java Black

If it was used for motorway work, mileage aside, you must bear in mind it would have been used to tow.

Sometimes to shift some pretty heavy stuff to the hard shoulder to clear a motorway in an emergency Wink

It is certainly a looker though, but those are non-standard RR Sport wheels and tyres on there.

No harm in going to have a proper look though; let us know how you get on Thumbs Up

Remember - it is cheap for a reason, and come resale time, you will have a job getting much dollar for it yourself. Java with Ivory 2006 4.2 Supercharged. 23.5k miles - NOW SOLD!

So are the motorway cars! Pursuits, high speed catch-ups, 'fish-tailing' (ramming cars off the road), 24/7 usage - the servicing gets done on time, but by the same technicians that do the Astras- certainly in my force anyway.

My force had a 56 plate (Feb 07) 330d BMW for sale recently - ex-traffic, unmarked so it's never had decals or overt lighting fitted- just two blue LED's in the front grille and a windscreen mounted unit. It looked mint. They only wanted £2k for it and my ears pricked up, until I found out it was shagged. Needed a lot of money spending on it to make it a nice car again. 100,000 miles, used 24hrs a day, driven fast all day long. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded
