So much for mud and snow tyres

Went to check on the tin tent yesterday and being a lazy git, I tried to turn around on the grass. All four wheels promptly started spinning and sinking in the mud!
Tried everything to get out - low range, manual, low revs. Nothing. Wheels just kept spinning. Eventually had to throw gravel into the newly created holes I'd made!

The only place these tyres are suitable for is the road!

M+S markings mean nothing, there's no performance standard the tyres bearing them have to meet.

when the tyres are packed full of mud it dont matter how "mud n snow" they are...I used to run Pirelli ATR's on the D3 and got it stuck on some seriously slippy and boggy stuff....got it out eventually but sometimes its the luck of the draw..... Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

its gonna happen Noddy... with all the rain we've had the ground is saturated its inevitable that you will spin your tyres, whatever you have on..

A quick thumbs up for standard Pirelli Scorpions.
Nipped out last in the snow. Was happily trundling along, radio on etc, forgot about the 90 degree bend at the end of the straight. In the last second my choices were :
Panic
Brake & steer round ( hopefully missing the very large stone gate post)
Carry straight on into the field . . .
I chose the third Shocked
So, we glided onto the snow covered absolutely sodden moor top field at 30 mph, prescribed a large circle in the snow, and left the field how we went in. Phew.
Back to the tyres - if you'd asked me before my chances of doing that successfully, I'd have said "very slim". Truth was, though, it was faultless.
Fortunately there was no gate . . .
FF now needing a bit of a clean . . .
I'd love to see the tyre marks from the sky !

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

Try setting the suspension to off-road height. That means the weight of the body is further away from the mud and you'll not have this problem. Ahem.................
