I have seen lots of reference to an IID tool for diagnosing problems with the FF and setting up user settings but I can't see anywhere where you can buy one and if there is just one model or what different models offer or prices. I have tried a google search but not sure any returned what I am looking for as the only one I found for sale had a Britpart Logo and seemed to only refer to a Discovery.

Are there other alternatives apart from the £30-£50 generic units that can do similar things. Anyone got one they don't use any more and looking to sell. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

hi fella,you cant use a second hand unit just like that,,each IId tool is linked up to an individual vehicle,by chassis number ,once someone sells theirs,you have to approach the manufacture of the iid tool and pay a small fee to have the IId tool cleaned of its previous owners details in order to get your details in..

if this wasn't done,the use of the IId tool would be so that every uses the same one and it would get passed about,stopping the manufacture of them from making money out of them,,

you can get them of ebay but make sure you send them your vehicle details before buying so they can send you the right one for your vehicles date of manufacture,,i believe the 2002 to 2005 are the same but just check...

ducksworth on here sells them,look him up,a site sponsor,you know one he won't mess you about and two he has been in the game long enough to send you the right one, might even get it cheaper from him being as you're a member......

You need the right version for your vehicle. Once installed it's locked to the VIN but if you change vehicles or want to sell it on, GAP Diagnostics (the Manufacturer) will help with this for a small fee. Graham
