United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Orkney Grey
3 months on from FFRR to volvo

How do all,
Well those that read my post in october will remember that for my wifes health reasons I sold my 2010 VSE to get a XC70, The days before my RR went every nerve and fibre of my body screamed NO dont do it, but I did, bought a ex demo and hated the XC70 with a passion so much so that after only 3 weeks and 700 miles I ordered a new fully loaded XC60 thinking that with it been a bit bigger and taller all would be well.
Got the new XC60 on 12th of Dec we have done 1300 miles in it and its still crap, I mean it has heated everything 850watt surround sound, auto dim ext mirrors the list goes on.
BUT it lacks soul there is no permagrin whatsoever, in a FF half the pleasure is in getting to your destination and just the pleasure of driving.
For those of you that said leave the Volvo alone. Yes you were right.
As for now I watch autrader and Landrover Approved site longing for another FFRR the problem is seeing how I have lost so much money on cars lately I cant afford another 2010 VSE but I feel myself been drawn to a 2008 - 2009 vogue. As for my wife we are starting down the path of new hips etc all being well and she is happy to get another FF.
Soon I hope.
Here lies a lesson for anyone thinking of selling their FF to go down the sensible option. Big Cry

There isn't a substitute for a LR! I am sure a lot of people on here will agree; once you have one it's hard to go to any other marque. And I suppose that's not what you want to hear...

Hope your wife's health problems are sorted soon Thumbs Up

Woodchip, your nearest and dearest are the most important Thumbs Up

However I am in an equal dilemma, been a LR devotee for years, have an L322 and a couple of classics in various states of rebuild, bought a Sport last year to use for work and hated the thing with a vengeance , sure it was fast and my wife loved it ( probably a death knell ), but it wasn't a FullFat. I have been looking for the last month for a sensible, good looking, client friendly vehicle and cant see past a FullFat, will be a waste of time and money buying anything else IMO ..... therefore I am addicted Thumbs Up

Woodchip. just a personal opinion. I hated the Sport, not as a car but as a Range Rover, its a marketing tool and good on JLR, there job is to sell the brand and they do it well, however FFRR for me

Oh well Woodchip, often the hardest lessons are the ones we will always remember and I'm pretty sure that once you've "come back into the fold" you'll never leave again.......prodigal returns etc etc Smile

I went from an XC90 to my VSE TDV8 and whilst I was more than a bit concerned about a lot of the scare stories you hear of major, expensive problems with an FFRR all I can say after 8 months of total bliss floating around in my mobile gentlmens club, I could not be more impressed with it and I'm totally sure I did the right thing Thumbs Up

I sincerely wish you and your wife all the best in getting her joints sorted as quickly and painlessly as possible
