Jump starting using L405 as source?

Want to use my 405 to jump start another car, but I am baffled! Nothing in Handbook, except that to *receive* a jump start I use the special + terminal provided and of course an earth ground, but what about the other way? Can't even see the battery - under one of the plastic covers I guess? And the handbook is full of dire warnings about not connecting to the terminals...anyone had any experience of this, or got any advice? Norman

OK thanks Craig that's helpful! Off to Maplin to buy a jump start box then....

(Out of interest, why? Fries the electronics? Useful to know in case of emergency as I have done this before with my previous Disco and 322) Norman

Not ony that but there are warnings about the pyrotechnic devices attaches to the battery terminals etc.

If you are buying a jump starter, make sure it's a decent capacity to crank over the size of engine, I guess you'd want it to crank yours too maybe one day, not just the Ford Fiesta etc (silly assumption).

I bought a Jump Start 4000 from Machine Mart, I've not had to crank the 5.0 but I did crank the 3.6 and the 3.0 TD6 with it, and my 2.5 Defender, oh, and my lawnmower every time I use it! Rolling with laughter Discovery 4 HSE

There is a risk involved in jump starting anything using a RR with its sophisticated electronics! Why take the risk is all I'm saying Thumbs Up I wouldn't personally...

As others have said, "Don't try it!" I think that, if I HAD to jump start with an L405, I'd want to CAREFULLY follow the battery removal directions, get it OUT OF THE CAR, use it to jump, them carefully reinstall it.
