Rear DVD screens - so whats the trick then?

Hi all,

I have a MY05 Vogue with VEBA rear screens and a single VEBA DVD player mounted in the boot directly under the navigation DVD player.

All works a treat with one exception - we cant access or even control the DVD player without stopping and opening up the boot - which kind of defeats the object on a long journey. There is a remote control but without a line of sight it cant work.

I cant be the first to find this just a bit irritating - has anyone got any bright ideas or solutions....? be it in either controlling, repositioning, or replacing the DVD unit.... or anything else.....?

Cheers, Jon.

Mine has a remote sensor (like a TV magic eye) mounted in the cabin which I point the remote at and that controls the DVD system in the boot. My sensor is mounted on the passenger B pillar, slightly above and behind the front passenger seat and looks like a small LED.

Depending on who/how they were fitted will depend on location - some are mounted on the inside of the tailgate facing into the cabin so by pointing the remote at the rear view mirror will detect the signal.

Have a hunt around, the sensor will be in the cabin somewhere. Current Fleet:-

Indeed there is, and indeed it does! Fantastic thanks very much.
I had assumed it was just the infa-red transmitter for the headphones.....
Cheers, Jon.
