Jealousy?

Annoyed yesterday....

Years of having Japanese performance cars and never the case, but today whilst putting the kids in the back of my 2004 v8 FFrR I notice the rear passenger side drop window shattered after what looks like a deliberate smack by a rock or such like.

I've only had it 3 weeks and it seems some people are not content letting others have something they perhaps can't have.

Just felt the need to rant!!!

Anybody else experienced similar?

Time to CCTV up me thinks! Sad place to be when you have to take action to protect your property like that Sad

No issue in the rr, but I did have a 1995 BMW M5 keyed in a supermarket car park 4 days before Christmas, just after becoming unemployed...... Was a few years ago though.

Not good is it. Makes you wonder why you bother, but that would be letting the scrotes win. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Sorry to hear that JaiPal... Not nice.. Are you sure it was a deliberate attempt and not just a rogue stone thrown up by a passing car.?

Hope fully won't cost you too much to replace. Ash

Yeah, I feel for you chap. That's one of the main reasons I left suburbia for the countryside sadly. Neighbours who think they have a right to drag you down to their level etc.

We bought a cottage in the country in 2003 and never looked back. Don't even bother locking the car a night TBH.

At least it's cheap and easy to replace. Good luck with that. And don't let the b*stards grind you down. Thumbs Up

Sorry to here that, some people just don't get it do they. Sad At least its a window that can be repaired easily and not a dent or keyed the paint work. Don't let the Censored lower you to there level.

I had my Disco 1 V8 keyed on the D pillers with a star on one and a line about 4" long the other when she was 2 years old on my drive.... Crying or Very sad If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

Most insurance companies treat it the same as a windscreen - so hopefully just the excess to pay Thumbs Up

Thanks for the support guys ... I know in the grand scheme of FFRR ownership mine is pretty old but it's still my pride and joy and my first step on the ladder. Working at JLR for the last 12 months and seeing these machines day in, day out has meant that I've aspired to owning one and finally got the chance a few weeks ago!

Shame that others can't stand it - pretty sure it wasn't a rogue stone as the road is pretty free of debris (although we have had our pavements done recently). I'm inclined to believe it was malicious although if it wasn't I'd feel better. Constantly on watch now - today the first thing I did after coming downstairs was to go outside and check the car ... not a nice thing to have to do Sad

Had to pay an excess of 60 and they're coming to my office on Tuesday to fit.

Was worried that it would no longer match with tints etc but as it's a factory fit tint they are putting in the proper article Smile

I can blame my son but although he is a little terror he's only 17months and can't quite do the damage Very Happy

As tempting as it may be ....
