2003 Range Rover HSE - Trans Failsafe Prog
Im driving a 2003 range rover.Ok although it might have been asked before I can seem to find a answer.
Here's my problem... My truck starts up and I can move the shifter with no problem but for some reason my truck won't move at all,in drive there's nothing and reverse same thing. When I'm selecting the gears and then try to put it back into park I get a grinding noise. There's no check engine light on or anything. I test my battery it's 100% alternator is good. All the fuse seem to be working I checked it with the test light I'm at a lost please help...oh BTW my mountain(I think it's the lo range symbol) symbol light is on also it flashing instead of a steady light.

On a slope, will the vehicle roll forwards/backwards with the handbrake off and the gear selector in the Park position?

Okay, so the problem is downstream of the transmission output i.e. an issue with the transfer box, propshafts, final drives or driveshafts. As your mountain symbol is flashing I would begin by trying to recalibrate the shift motor on the transfer box using Fuse 37 and let us know what the outcome is.

Note that the slot for Fuse 37 should normally be empty. A fuse is inserted here only to get the shift motor to select neutral in the transfer box in the event that the car has to be towed on its wheels.
