Isle of Man Vehicle check. | |
Well today was the day to have my FFRR inspected by the IOM department of transport. Over here there is no annual MOT, just a one off inspection if you import your car and its over 3 years old. Some say its a tough test to get through, akin to a pit test.
I'd read some horror stories that they're just looking to fail it the first time they see it, but my experience couldn't have been further from the truth. Really very polite, I asked if I could come in and watch and they said sure, don't see why not. The madness of extreme health and safety hasn't managed to find its way here yet!
Granted its a low mileage very nice example, but I took the time to wash and polish it and Hoover inside, much to the confusion of my wife. And it passed with flying colours! The inspector couldn't have been more complimentary, saying what a beautiful car that was clearly well looked after and loved.
So just have to decide if its the next in line issued number or go for a private MAN - plate.
Cheers,
