the in tank unit death in 12year old car wouldn be surprising
especially well documented on 322s
so it is something you should really consider being aware owner Whistle

Thumbs Up

Mate I researched all the common failures on the 322 before biting the bullet. This being one of them.
But one after the other non stop gets a bit much. So it's nothing to do with being an unaware owner.

The thing that winds me up the most is that i absolutely love the thing!!
Was driving a brand new Ewok the other day and it just didn't compare! I dare say once i've had my tantrum and its fixed i'll be fine!!

I was gonna recover it to my local Indy but i decided that since it drives intermittently i've dumped it at my Grandfather's where i can do the pump myself and hopefully save a few quid!!
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get just the pump unit from? I can only seem to find the entire in tank pump assembly.

You need to make sure you are changing the right pump or else it could be costly

I know. I'll have to get it to cut out so I can get underneath and have a listen. The fault codes only tell me it's a fault on the low pressure system. I was assured that if I get the INJ SYS FAIL message then it's the in tank pump?

Guys I've hunted high & low to try and find a part number or supplier for just the pump inside the whole sender assembly.
I saw somewhere that there was a BMW one available? The only one I can find is for the V8 petrol though.

Are you sure it's the pump in the tank that's at fault?

The most common one to cause problems is the one at the rear wheel!!!

Can you explain how could it be the one behind the wheel
(even if its lets say common one)

If the car is displaying INJ SYS FAULT message ???

So, it was booked in to my local Indy today for brake pipes and the pump didn't arrive till today too. Got it recovered over to the garage yesterday.
They fitted the pump and still weren't happy with the pressure. Changed the filter too and hey presto! There is some gunk in the bottom of fuel tank so it'll be getting dropped in the near future and cleaned out.
Seems a lot smoother now.
