That was a good read. Thumbs Up
The west coast has so much more to give than the east coast. In saying that we are not without our beauty spots over here. Previously..

Really enjoyed reading that! Thumbs Up

Our many holidays in Scotland have usually revolved around staying in one familiar place (for good reason, as it's a stunning part of the world), but recently we toured in a rented motorhome and enjoyed it so much, we're doing it again (hopefully) this year in our own. Si. <This is my name.

Great read, thanks for sharing. We're very lucky here in the West Coast, unlike those from the East Coast who have the North Sea, oil fields and ....the North Sea, oil fields... Whistle Whistle Whistle Laughing Laughing Laughing

Thanks jonlewis - really enjoyed reading that and seeing the pictures. I'll have another read again when I'm planning my trip in detail.

Thanks everyone. It is quite odd that I enjoyed re-reading it myself as it reminded me what a wonderful place Scotland is. We often drive down the East as well and it just a spectacular, if somewhat wet, country.

It was only after I posted that I realised that the John O'Groats hotel had actually been renovated and some wood cabins built in front of it. I am planning a trip up I the next month or so and will take a few more pictures. Anyone driving down the Thurso to JOG road will not fail to see my Dad's house just after Dunnet and St Johns Loch.

A beautiful place and incredibly suited to our chosen vehicles. 2011 Stornaway Grey 5.0SC Autobiography

Fingles Cave on the island of Staffa was much more impressive than the Giants Causway.
