I've used bluetooth to link my mobile phone to my '08 Vogue ever since I've had the car and everything has worked fine - if rarely used - until I got a new phone. I used to have an HTC Desire HD which worked with the car fine until I fell off my bike and wrecked it. I replaced it with the HTC One and now the bluetooth link drops out soon after linking up with the car.

It could be that the bluetooth module needs it's memory cleared, easy enough to do. Turn the ignition off and leave the car for 10-15 mins, then disconnect the power connector on the bluetooth module. Leave disconnected for about 30 seconds and then reconnect. On your phone, clear the bluetooth memory of the existing land rover connection, then turn on the ignition and start the pairing process again. This process has solved a similar problem I had in the past. If it doesn't solve it, then updating your bluetooth module, as stated in Axle's post, is your best option. Should've been old enough to know better...doh!

It is in the boot area, on the left hand side(passenger side) in behind the pull out panel. The bluetooth module sits on the top of the stack of modules that provide, TV, nav etc. It is branded Nokia and you can disconnect the power connection with a little bit of fiddling and without having to dismount it. There are two cables connected to it, one a twisted pair of white leads and the other bunch of thinner wires on a multi-pin connector. I assume the former is the power lead, correct? 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 automatic (LHD), Santorini Black

The twisted pair of white leads is the fibre optic MOST connection, the multi plug carries the power and is the one to disconnect. It is retained by an over centre latch, which ejects the plug from it's socket, when you flip it up. Should've been old enough to know better...doh!

OK the car was in for a winter check this week and I'd mentioned the bluetooth problem. The dealer installed a software update for the bluetooth unit but it made no difference unfortunately. However we did some more experimenting and discovered that the bluetooth connection only drops out if I accept the car's request to access the phone's phone book. If I reject the request I can use the phone via the car, I just can't access the phone book. Anyone know why the phone book access might kill the connection? (I haven't tried disconnecting the unit yet but I will). 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 automatic (LHD), Santorini Black
