Re-sealing door plastic sheet

Stupid question time.....
what product is used for re-sealing the door plastic sheet to the door.
Is it just a bead of black silicone?, as it seems to remain more 'tacky' than silicone..

Don't use silicone, it will dry and you will tear the liner if you have to remove it again in the future. Body shop sealing mastic that does not set would be what you are looking for

I believe it is called butyl tape, you can buy it on rolls of the bay
