trans-failsafe-prog.

Hi everyone, just had trans-failsafe prog come up on my car. Had the codes read and are as follows, no 85-can bus transfer box time out. no 37- gear monitor s fault. can any one tell me what this means and what I need to do. Does the gear box need re-calibrated, it was re-built last year.

^^^^ Yep, could very well be the transfer shift motor. Does it go into low and back to high range ok?

You may also get the message if the battery is not tip top. I used to get it when I'd left it for a week or so..... 2006 4.2 SC

Hi both sorry it took so long to reply, it turns out all it needed was all the error messages deleted from the computors, there was at 50 of them for the suspension a loan so managed to find an independent where I was staying near Carlisle and he cleared every thing that was wrong, runs fine now, cheers.

Cheers Craig, it had a new battery last year when gear box was re-built but I will get it checked. The garage that cleared the faults said that they had not been cleared right, so I hope nothing comes back. cheers.
