They are silly money from LR and not really a great design as the bike has to be supported by the top tube, so SWMBO is going to buy me a carrier for Christmas Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Going for one that doesn't hold the bike by the top tube

So what do those arm things do then John Wink

I thought it might be two wheeled related Very Happy

They are silly money for a bit of bent metal tube painted black... Wonder how easy it would be for a plumber to bend one out of stainless and weld a plate to it Very Happy FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I just prefer the thought of the bike supported by the wheels rather than hanging by the top tube

Can understand that John Smile

I dont mind top tube support as the bikes are a lot lighter than they used to be and i almost always take the wheels off as well and have them put on the rack last and strapped in so that there is no overhang to the side of the vehicle. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Will, the arm things clamp the frame of the bike (to stop it falling off) the weight of the bike sits on the wheels whilst the arm holds it still Thumbs Up

I have the 3+1 version of the Altera Strada, which slides away from the tow ball to allow you to open the boot. Does the version in your (47p2) picture do this? It is a feature well worth having.

Paul.
