Having two keys in your possession is only proof that you now have 2 keys, it's not proof that you haven't lost one or had one stolen. Some cars are only sold with only 1 key, some come with 4 (2 key's, a spare and a service key). God forbid my car was stolen, but I would hate to be in the position of having proving to my insurer I had all the keys. It may not be an issue, but then again when insurers are looking at a claim in the tens of thousands they often look for reasons to delay or even refuse settlement. 2024 P550e Autobiography 2016MY TDV6 Autobiography - Gone 2011MY 5.0 SC Autobiography Black - Gone 2005 TD6 Vogue - Gone |

If it was on the drive and the fob was in range of the vehicle - smash window - press start - drive off. Problem only occurs after you stop (assuming the immobilizer isn't that clever - which it probably is!)

Hmm never had that as a problem with mine - in fact it was always in my RH pocket, and as I recall the 'reset because I've immobilised myself'' procedure involves pressing the fob to the lower dash nearest the door on the drivers side - which isn't the middle of the car..... Land Rover Addict

Certainly not required by all insurers (NFU for one). |
