You can do what you want with the RSW (but it would be a bit of a fiddle and kludge) much easier with IIDTool but if your message display is borked you will have problems.

you have no lights on the eas because your e.c.u is on lock mode, your most probably riding at the lowest setting at the moment or whats called bump stops, your suspension air bag is not filling up due to the compressor not working so the weight of the range is resting on the bump stops..don't take my word for it but only way round of a lock mode is a L.R visit and a hook up,where the compressor can be re coded and all the fault code removed, but if the compressor is at fault then few months down the line you're going to be back in the same place again, best thing would be to get a 2nd hand recon unit or a new one from L.r with a new relay and get them to re code the new compressor up,your old unit will be taken in as a surcharge...its human nature to try and fix what sometimes we think is an easy fix but no such thing when it comes to the range rover, more like a temp fix,if its broken bite the bullet and replace it or the head ache will be back...

Thanks for the kudos, guys.
Hi Paul, If reading and clearing codes is what you are after, it will go quite well, I am sure. BBS has solid products. But comparing the IIDTool to the FCR is a little skewed: the FCR reads and erases fault codes. The IIDTool is a full diagnostic system that reads and clears codes, shows live values, controls outputs, performs service routines, edits the car configuration file CCF, flashes SW, etc. There is actually very little that separates the IIDTool from the BBS Faultmate MSV. And the differences are shrinking each day... To see in detail what can be done, enter your vehicle in the functionality list and click the down arrows in the chart to open sub-menus: http://gap-diagnostic.com/products/iidtool.html If you have any questions, feel free to PM or mail (support at gap-diagnostic dotcom) Steve RRC 2Dr, RRC 4Dr, P38, and 2 L322s (wife thinks I'm nuts - prob right, too) |

All very true Steve. But at the moment, I'm skint & the Faultmate was only £100! If you can do me one of yours for that price then I'll go and fire up the paypal account right now! |

I was surprised to see his update. I thought he had given up on it. Having said that, I note the update has removed the Discovery and P38 fault find. Sneaky! |
