Next Gen Discovery is apparently going to be a 7 seat but badged as a RR - I'd definitely consider it.

Gazellio - I'd seen a couple of cars with the extended wood kit, is that the almost beech wood looking stuff?

I'd love an SRT-8 in black, but would have to have the grill and wheels black, "murdered out" as 'the kids' call it Laughing 2006 Mercedes CLS

England 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Tonga Green

The X6 is a fantastic car to drive Mick - the standard 3.5xdrive td was really responsive and went like a rocket on the road.

Granted the top gear team didn't rate it and gave it a stinking report on the show - claiming they could not see any point to it but I liked it a lot.

Obviously it is a totally different car to the Range Rover and cannot compete with regards to passenger comfort of your current car - but if you like your cars big and enjoy driving them quickly (when the opportunity allows Twisted Evil ) then I think you will be impressed.

Only downsides to it were the limited visibility on the corners and rear, lack of rear headroom (despite the 2 seats being comfortable enough and their poxy BMW iDrive which I couldn't get the hang of in the 24 hrs I had it for - but I am sure they are all things an owner would get used to - if you were after the Range Rover qualities then the newer X5 would be a better option of course - but it was a special car I thought, one of those cars you either love or hate.

Read somewhere recently - even BMW have sold twice as many as they had expected to in this country.

Only reason I didn't go for it was I ended up trading my Bonatti TD6 for a Tonga TDV8 (my favorite colour for the RR) and I thought an 18month old TDV8 was better value for money than a new/ex demo X6 (which was all that was available at the time)

Would be interested in your views once you have had the opportunity to drive one.

Its a dark reddish sort of wood and would not look ot of place in a Bentley! Seen many BMW wood kits that look zillions of times worse. It really is very nice to live with. See the Photo in this thread although it a tad darker in reality.

PS: Remember that my LUX spec car gets most of the wood as standard as well as the very supple black leather.

I genuinely like the X6 regardless of its offroad prowess (and Top Gear Report - remember they are trying hard to be controversial) but it seems very over priced to me. I will NOT pay more than I think a car is worth Smile

i like the X5 just not sure i would buy one and not sure why someone would choose an X6 over an X5?

Cayenne GTS or Turbo appeals but i must say i would go for a 2010 FFRR or a 2010 RRS.
Bow down If i needed the 7 seats which i dont then a D4

I think its just that the X6 looks new/different/controversial/sexy and seperates you from the crowd.....

IMHO anyway Cool

So it's a bit like the RRS and disco then? Wink

You pay more for the same vehicle with less practicallity so you can be different?

(I only posted this because some of the RRS sport guys have come over...)

Your right there but the RRS is one of the commonest cars on the road is it not? Wink
