Electronic Parking ,Brake

Just passed MOT ( equivalent ) a couple of months ago and applied the EPD recently and nothing happened except for the PARK BRAKE not available warning. IID tool tells me it the module and no sounds from the unit itself. Any ideas other than replace. i have read all the posts about freeing off the adjuster but mines not making any noise so I don't think it's over extended

I had new rear discs , pads and shoes fitted today and shoes were ok

Thanks in advance 2015 4.4 AB

Have you tried to see if there is any tension on the cables for the hand brake going to the calipers when you apply the Epb? If not it could the electrical module. There is also a park brake recalibration in the iid tool menu you could try! I was told by the Indy if the electronic module needs replacing and calibrating it's quite expensive so hope it's not that! You could also try a battery reset too!

Thanks for the answer , no tension on cables so I'll try the electrical module I did see a few on EBay and it would be a far cheaper fix. I tried the IID tool reset but it didn't work. Thanks again 2015 4.4 AB

I'm assuming you have also tried the latching and unlatching process on the iid tool too see if you get any movement there??

I haven't tried that. I didn't see that option. I'll have a look later. Thanks 2015 4.4 AB

Hi. Looked through the workshop manual ( thanks to wiki ) on how to remove the EPB and it seems dropping the rear suspension is the way to go. I'm now looking for a wiring diagram for the EPB for my 2007 that's shows the EPB wires. I e looked through the Wiki offering but it was printed in 2001. Any pointers on where to find one please ? 2015 4.4 AB
