Genuinely sad to see her go - but on the plus side it looks like I'm picking up the new toy tomorrow.

Every cloud....

So I'm sad to say that my Range Rover is going to have to be sold. I'm not so sad that it's going to make room for this -

Anyway, I've got a deal lined up with the Jag garage with the Range Rover as part ex. Being totally honest, I've managed to haggle the dealer UP to a whopping £14,250 for the Range against his car (their initial offer was £12,500 (!) which, as far as I'm concerned is basically legalised theft)!

I'd much rather sell it to a forum member, who will love and appreciate the car, than a Jag dealer who will just ship it on in the trade, so I'm looking for offers that are better than the part ex price.

I can't find a similar age and mileage car anywhere in the country for less than £15k, so I think this is a proper bargain.

Can't let it go for a week or two as I'm waiting on the paperwork back from the DVLA to take my private plate off.

Details as follows (just copied and pasted what will be going in the eBay ad) -

You are looking at my 2007 (07) 4.2 Supercharged Range Rover Vogue SE. The car has just ticked over 92k on the clock and is Java black with black leather and all the toys. With the exception of the fuel burning heater (which almost no petrol cars have) it has everything. Heated and air conditioned seats, heated rear seats, Harman Kardon surround sound system, rear seat entertainment (with 2 sets of headphones and 2 remotes!), 6 CD changer, sunroof, venture cam, heated steering wheel, folding mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, piano black interior trim, cruise control, multi-function steering wheel, 4 zone air conditioning, voice control – the list goes on….

The car was delivered on 1st June 2007 supplied by Lookers Land Rover in Chelmsford, and has had 2 previous owners. It's the facelift with terrain response and electronic handbrake.

It's been serviced at Land Rover as follows -

14,011 miles at Lookers Land Rover Chelmsford - 25th March 2008
30,116 miles at Lookers Land Rover Chelmsford - 30th March 2009
45,234 miles at Lookers Land Rover Chelmsford - 12th April 2010
58,029 miles at Haldey Green Land Rover Barnet - 10th February 2011
70,196 miles at Caffyns Land Rover Lewes - 4th May 2012
86,632 miles at Hunters Land Rover Guildford – 22nd May 2013

It has tax and an MOT until the end of May 2014. It went through its last MOT without a single advisory.

During its last service (which was an Inspection 2 at Hunters Land Rover in Guildford and cost over £500) I had everything they reported corrected. They said that it needed a new front tyre, so I replaced both fronts with OEM Continental Cross Contacts at a cost of £268 per tyre (have receipt). The rears have about 4mm tread left on each.
They also suggested that it needed a new electronic coolant pump, a new cooler pipe to the top of the oil cooler (which had a tiny leak), new front brake discs and a new rear wiper.
All of this work has been carried out (again, with receipts) by my local LR specialist - Moonwhizz (silly name, great garage!).

I'm an enthusiast owner and FFRR forum member so the car has been pampered (as you can tell) in my ownership and there has been no expense spared in the upkeep.

In addition to the above I also replaced both front air springs recently at a cost of about £900. I also replaced the rear washer motor, arm and wiper blades as they were less than perfect (a common fault). Receipts for all of this work are also provided.

Over and above the standard S/C Vogue SE spec, I’ve made a number of subtle modifications to the car. I’m sure I’ll miss something, but off the top of my head the work includes -

• Upgraded to latest version of bluetooth module (now syncs contacts etc)
• 2012 nav disc
• Digital TV upgrade
• TV-in-motion (allows DVD / TV to be watched by passengers on the move)
• Colour coded front grille, bonnet vent, side vents, door mirrors, door handles, boot strip and front and rear "Range Rover" lettering
• Custom colour coded headlights with grey (not orange) reflectors
• Supercharged sill guards added (and original kick plates replaced last month)
• Side and fog lights upgraded to white LED to match xenon main beam colour
• All interior bulbs upgraded to white LEDs
• Piano black steering wheel button cover
• Genuine LR side steps
• Privacy glass
• Rear parcel shelf re-trimmed in leather-effect vinyl to match interior leather
• Genuine LR 2012 style wheel centre caps and black ‘Land Rover’ valve caps
• Autobiography black "supercharged" rear badge
• Range Rover tax disc holder

The older XKR is being swapped for a new dog car (X Type 4WD Estate 2.5 V6) and the Range is going in against the new XKR.

Also - I've had quite a lot of calls on the car since posting this - I need to be clear what my intentions are.

I have the car advertised on eBay and I'm going to let the auction run. The reserve price is £14,250 on there (dealer part ex value). If it doesn't sell on eBay then I have 3 forum folk lined up who will be given first refusal (in the order they contacted me) to better the dealer's offer.

Hope that makes sense. Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...
