United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

That looks like a good piece of kit Thumbs Up

I have a couple of site gennys available for standby power if we get cut off, we just plonk then outside and run an extension into the house and plug the lamps etc into it,

have considered fitting an isolator and connection unit on the side of the house however Our meter box has a double pole isolator so we could effectively be isolated from the main, and as the fuse box is permanently earthed, there would be a earth in the system.

connecting the genny in to a 13 amp socket isn't something I would recommend however what would be the issues given the above, provided that the supply was switched off in the meter box using the double pole switch, as this seems to be what the unit above would do? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The unit above will avoid the possibility that the generator could feed power into the grid; mistakes happen and the consequences to a line worker could be lethal. For example, what if in an absent minded moment the generator was switched on before the isolator was switched off, or vice versa. Unlikely, perhaps, but possible, yes.
