I think I need a new battery, twice in 3 weeks I have left the boot open for around 20 mins and it's resulted in the battery being dead....a jump start does turn it over easily but with winter on the way I don't think a weak battery is a good idea

Should I replace like for like, it's an Exide one that I can only assume is the original, or should I have a look at options ? Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

The Varta is the same battery as the Bosch as far as I can tell

Varta make them for Bosch I heard somewhere  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Booger, there was 3 left but now only 2 left

When I bought my FF a year ago it was also fitted with an Exide and I, like you, left the boot open two or three times whilst cleaning it out and installing bluetooth etc., End result - flat battery, so I went out and bought a new one (not Bosch though) thinking the battery was on the way out.

However, that never cured the flat battery issue because as all FF owners should know, you NEVER leave your boot open for more than 30 seconds otherwise a flat battery is guaranteed

My issue turned out to be the FSR, which I replaced, and 2 months ago I took a chance and removed the new battery which just wasn't holding it's charge, refitted the old Exide which I had kept in the garage and, fingers crossed, I have had no battery problems since!! There was nothing wrong with the Exide in the first place!

So all I would say is, don't be so sure it's the Exide that's causing the battery problems - before splashing out on a new one, it may be worth taking it to an automotive specialist to get them to test it first.  Cheers

I am quite fond of providing a more adequate street lighting option for the neighbours alas it takes it's toll after a awhile and so I'll sort a new one this week....the Exide has been on charge for 16 hours now and my 16amp digital charger still has it showing as "battery recondition" / "deep cycle".....

I made a call to a local motor factor this morning who has told me that Varta and Bosch is the same battery with a different badge. He can also do the Varta with 5yr warranty for £94 so I think I'll just get it sorted !

I read about the FSR, seems there is a fault on 02-05' cars but no mention of 07 cars, how do I do a test on it please ? Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

My previous owner had a dog and my boot used to smell of it so I used to leave the tailgate open overnight in the garage and I never experienced any battery issues??

you shouldnt, as the tailgate lights go off after 16 minutes.. ... - .- -.

This is all pointing to a new battery. I leave the tailgate open for no more than 10-15 mins at a time, the usual unloading shopping, packing it for work etc etc....so it's not left open for long periods usually...on the 2 occassions it has been left open for packing and unpacking then I'll do an interior clean it's killing the battery.... Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

£94 is a really good price, and the £96.50 link is great for a delivered price, mine should be with me in a day or two
