Double standards..

Both the outgoing and incoming Governments saw fit to raise the road tax on gas guzzlers in a vain attempt to put us off buying them. Yet all I saw over the last few days were Jags and FFRRs outside No 10. Cameron got into a brand new XJ the other night! 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

It's not to stop ppl buying cars its to raise more money. Simple as that.

I'm concerned what a Liberal influence may have on road tax etc as they hate big cars for ideological reasons. I just want to be able to drive whatever car I like without being made to feel like a criminal.

Exactly - it is the same reason why they don't get rid of cigarettes or alcohol despite that the fact that it costs a truck load of money to care for those that can't moderate their intake. It makes them more money than they have to spend on alcohol and tobacco related illnesses.
