Going to Change the battery tonight on the SC as it's on it's way out. I've read in one place to disconnect the negative and leave for 15 mins before removing the positive??? But in other places, including powerfulUK Utube it doesn't say that?

when you unlock it , lift the bonnet and leave for about 20 mins and that will allow all the ecu's time to power down . ... - .- -.

I always follow the process in the wiki - don't fancy the pyro charge on the positive lead going off. "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

I just disconnect mine. Never had any problems and my pyro charge is still intact |

Changed the battery yesterday. The only 'awkward' point is that there is what looks like a fan in front of the battery that you have to remove in order to get it out. It's only plastic but it was awkward getting to the fixings and you have to tape the nut to the socket to reinstall as you can't get a hand anywhere near the threaded section. So, all in all it took a little longer but a good job done. Regards

In the handbook it goes on about this but mine does not have it. After a bit of research I discovered that Ford stopped fitting them when they bought RR. However did not see fit to change the books!! Did leave me a bit confused looking for the + jump point after my Alternator failed a few weeks ago. Worse things happen at sea! Well thats what swmbo said when WRENS came to sea!!! |
