Is this a common part to steal?

Just noticed my passenger side window trim front and rear are missing. No damage to the bodywork thankfully, but why would anyone steal these? Are they expensive or something?

It is a part that gets bubbling underneath so if yours were in good condition maybe so...

I once had a wing mirror glass get nicked from an airport long stay car park. The car park security office reckoned there was no CCTV footage which said to me they were in on it, probably nicking bits to order off cars. This was at Birmingham. Never parking there again. Discovery 4 HSE

I am with RRUK it's a common part for corrosion, likely somebody With no morals and even less sense has pinched em. One thing though, I am sure there is a little hidden screw in one of them, as well as the clips, and they would not be easy to whip off, the clips hang on for grim death

Shame Noddy, I have a drivers side front top trim spare after doing my rebuild - you could have had it

First of all, I'm glad to see some of you think it's a funny subject having stuff stolen from your car.

Secondly, it's the rubber horizontal trim that sits across the top of the door, not the trim that goes up the A pillar. I haven't seen these corrode.
