AM radio not working...HELP

2002 Vogue recently acquired.
FM radio works fine, Tv works fine, Car phone works fine.
AM radio has no out put, I can turn it on tune to the station of my choice but I get no signal at all.
If I turn the volume up I can hear....well just a little static.
Auto tune doesnt work, tuner just goes on searching and doesnt stop.
I have had a look in the back, left around the Sat Nav disc player etc, cant see any obvious wires that are bung or disconnected.

ABC radio National is a must have in Sydney for decent news and sport.
With the Bush fires that we currently have around Sydney its the only place to listen to decent reports on.

Yes I have tinted windows.
I have not had problems with AM reception before (in other cars P38) with window tint installed.
If I open the tail gate up (and doors) I dont get AM reception either.

This is a serious situation which could see the new L322 being dumped and the trusty P38 re instated.

I believe if you look up 'oxymoron' on wikipedia, this comes up as an example. Laughing

The DSE 2.5 is a rare animal here.
I dont do tractor engines.
I headed up to the area where all the fires are a few days ago, had I have decided I was going to be doing any bush driving I most certainly would have taken the P38, at this early stage of L322 ownership I still consider the P38 more reliable and repairable in an isolated area.

Oooh and the Radio works Laughing
