Ipad log in

Okay, I posted, then deleted this a while ago, but it's back. I am used to being logged in when I go to the forum. Recently, I turn up as a guest (sometimes with the username & password filled, sometimes not). I liked arriving already logged in. The wonderfully user-friendly iPad sometimes automatically alters that for me and doesn't tell me. What's annoying is, I when I arrive as a guest, unread posts are, of course, not flagged. BUT, once I've logged in, the only new posts that will appear are those posted AFTER I ARRIVED AS A GUEST. As entering a password doesn't take long, I, essentially, get NO FLAGGED POSTS, and no stars for new content. Small problem, I know, but an annoying one. Any help appreciated.

Hi, I had the same Nasty experience after I downloaded IOS7 on my ipad. Turned out to be an item in "settings" of Safari on the Ipad.

Yep. The new, improved iOS7.

Make sure your privacy setting is not enabled in the Safari settings in iOS. This will stop the forum setting the session cookie it requires to keep you logged in.

The other issue is that your iPad may be using a different IP address to your normal computer/device - I'm currently testing a solution to keep logins persistent across devices.

It's weird but this morning everything worked normal, now suddenly I have to log in???
Nothing changed on this side, same IP address. My Ipad remembers the password etc.

It's been good for a few days, BUT... it just happened again. Big Cry Evil or Very Mad

I've looked at the Safari settings, and they look to be in order.

Just found out that renewing the button/Logo/app/ direct link/ favourits (how do you call that thing?) on your ipad desk when you are logged in, does the trick. Now I am logged in again entering the site. With the old button I have to log in again, with the new one it's OK

And again.

Sorry, Robert. I don't follow. Could you be more precise?

Sorry 2008, I'll try to be more precise.
You log in to this site, go to your preferred page, for me that's "new posts" and then you click the blue button on the left top of your screen, the square with the arrow, choose "add to screen"
Now you will have a link to the preferred page on your screen when you start up the Ipad. With this new link I don't have to log in anymore. With the previous one I suddenly had to log in even with the correct settings in Safari after downloading ios7.
@ Martin....Strangely enough I do have to log in if I follow the link I' ll find in my email notification.
The Ipad remembers the password etc, but I have to log in????

Thanks, Robert. I will try that.

I just logged in on the laptop today. I arrived at the page in guest mode. HOWEVER, when I logged on with the laptop, all the new post info displayed correctly. (Firefox on Win7)

All sorted now - much thanks.

When I arrive at the site with the iPad, I'm not logged in, but when I DO log in, all my unread messages are highlighted! Very Happy

Perfect! Thank you! Bow down
