Thought it might be of interest to others to post my running costs for the first year of ownership. Biggies are fuel and Tax!

The car is due its next service at the end of this month and parts/consumable costs will be about £200.00. I will continue to service/maintain it myself and have access to Testbook to reset service interval, ECU updates, check for TIA's / recalls etc.

That's interesting. 40p per mile fuel cost. My 4.4 V8 petrol/lpg is costing c.22p per mile. so if I had a 5.0L Sc (one day!!) it would be c. £1k extra fuel cost per 5,000 miles. I think I can live with that! now where can I get one from??

As I do a lot of short distance commuting (3 miles or so) this makes the car particularly hard on fuel. If you do longer runs Dolphinboy, you should expect fuel usage somewhat closer to your existing level.

I have tried to cut down on the short commute by cycling into work for the last month or two and only using the FFRR to do longer runs. this has affected my MPG average and raised it by at least 3.4 MPG

Another note on costs is insurance which is a very reasonable £245 for Fully comp cover encompassing SDP and commuting and my wife as a named driver. Should've been old enough to know better...doh!

I also had em on my 3.6 (replacing Pirelli's), to tell you the truth I didn't notice any difference as I don't really drive that fast and never off road. Some say the sidewalls bulge out but my opinion is that they didn't appear to bulge any more than the Pirelli Scorpions.

I have never been fussed about tyres, if the specs OK (and it is) I'm happy to use them, I'd rather not pay for Pirellis sponsorship of F1.

I've had them on the car since I bought it so can't give any comparison, Mark (markdotread) was the previous owner of the car he may have a view as I think he replaced Conti's with them, sorry I can't be more help. Geoff
