Help With Wind Noise A Pillar Or Window?

Hi all

My 2010 MY 5.0 S/C AB had a small amount of wind noise coming from either the A pillar or drivers side front window / frame seals when i got it about 5 weeks ago which i think has worsened slightly since and Id like to know if anyone has successfully diagnosed the problem and rectified it?

I seem to think that covering the gap between door and internal A pillar with ny hand when i drive along reduces the noise but I cant be certain?

I was thinking of taping over the A pillar on the outside between windscreen and trim to see if its that then A pillar to door post and work around that area until I find the leaky area, will that work?

I posted about this before and the mirror was suggested but i don't think its that. Any help / suggestions are more than welcome. Noise is from 50mph up.

Thanks

Carl

Hi Carl - I had some windscreen woes with mine in the summer (water ingress) necessitating screen replacement. On the way home after the new one was fitted I had a similar noise to yours, it being caused by the driver's side exterior A pillar cover not being correctly seated. In my case, a sharp thump on the cover with the heel of my hand fixed it . . .
My advice would be to take it to a windscreen fitter and take from there. They may diagnose a poorly fitted replacement screen ?
Cheers
Paul
Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

Taping up the joints around the A post will help in tracking down the problem.
I'd be inclined to tape up all the joints, see what happens and then remove the tape piece by piece until the noise comes back. Hopefully you should then have found the source.
