Most FFRR about to change from class 4 Mot status to class 7

Something I think everyone should be aware of that from Xmas this year VOSA is changing The test regs, Lots of changes have come in over the last year but all landrovers weighing, as in GVW on your vin plate of over 3000 kg will be tested as a light commercial. Up to now its been dealt with under the clause of dual purpose ie primarily a passenger vehicle. As most are plated as 3200 it will mean lots of people will not be able to use their local station or trusted indy.

Are you sure about this, not seen anything in the press. Does this mean all 4x4 mot prices will rise to class 7 prices.

Had a look on Vosa.gov.uk and nothing about this change.
Plenty of others though

Class 7 is for goods vehicles only. FFRR are PLG estate cars

Found this: (page 2)

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/syst...4-2013.pdf

Item 3: Dual Purpose Vehicles (SN 5 - 2009)
We recently sent out a system message, allowing certain 4 x 4 pickup vehicles with a DGW over 3000kg up to and including 3500kg to be considered dual purpose vehicles for test purposes where no unladen weight data is available.
Following further consultation with the Department for Transport, an amendment to the Motor Vehicles (Tests) Regulations early next year will see the removal of the dual purpose vehicle definition.
You should advise your customers that once the necessary changes have been made to the regulations, scheduled for early next year, all goods vehicles over 3000kg up to and including 3500kg DGW previously accepted as dual purpose vehicles will then fall in to Class 7.

Therefore this should NOT effect Range Rovers surely as they are "Diesel Cars" etc and not "Goods Vehicles"
