United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Vogue SE Supercharged Java Black

Well, first time using the car over the past couple of days since clearing the fault. Was ok on the weekend and today again whilst driving and sitting in traffic the car limited itself to third gear only.

Any ideas?

Maybe a faulty sensor?

Hi guys,

A few times now I've been driving normally (usually on hot days) and receive an error on the dash and the transmission limits itself to third gear only.

If I stop and restart the car goes back to normal and all gears are usable and no issues what-so-ever.

Again, today a warmish day, about 20-30 mins driving, mostly traffic, the car threw up and error and limited itself to third gear.

I have checked with my IIDTool and the error is:

U0155 Lost Communication With Instrument Panel Cluster

Any ideas what this could be?

Many thanks.

Still experiencing this fault.

Anyone got any ideas?

Have you tested the battery and generator yet ?? Start with simple voltage test engine off and running to see the difference in voltage.

Batteries can die/reduce when getting old so they won't hold charge even if the generator is putting enough in.

Have a look at the age of the battery, fluid level (if not sealed), check the clamps on the poles (corrosion reduces the voltage due to extra resistance) etc. etc.

All simple stuff but on a FFRR lowish voltage is a big issue, the ECUs have a hard time doing their work and start throwing up faults. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Hi Ebajema,

Thanks for the advice! I think you may be right. Battery is a few years old.

Will do some check later on today.

Thumbs Up

Battery on my 4.2 didn't last more than 3 years before it started giving me issues. New battery solved it straight away Wink Good luck !! MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
