Good morning all,
I'm still looking for a 4.2 Supercharged Full Fat. Looked at a couple but have not found THE ONE yet.
I have towed my caravan with my p38 4.6 for 7 years (In 7 years I've only replaced the exhaust and air springs) and it tows very well.
I am assuming a supercharged with nearly 200bhp more should tow OK

Does anyone have any expereience of towing with a supercharged? Any advice (apart from buy a diesel-I only do at the most 3000 miles a year) would be most welcome.

I've never towed with mine, but can't imagine fuel costs would be that bad as you'll be sitting at 60-65 with the engine below 2,000rpm most of the time.

Towed with my last SC often... Mainly a 3.5t tri axle ifor with another customers FF

Only thing i did was to fit paddleshift as it was prone (even with an empty trailer) to holding low gears... Irritating to say the least

Towed with my SC as well. I can honestly say it was effortless. And that's with a full classic, tools and spares on the back.
Fuel wasn't too bad either, averaging around 17 to 19 on mainly hilly dual carriageways and single roads.
The difference between other tow cars, including the excellent Discos and Defenders is the flexibility of power the engine gives you.
A good stable trailer is always a big help, but the biggest help is always your right foot !

^ My TD6 doesn't do much better than that with a fully loaded trailer, and it doesn't storm up hills that's for sure.

I've done lots of towing all over Europe with my S/C towing race cars and the only problem is that you can forget you're towing, as it's so effortless and you can still overtake effortlessly.

I also don't notice a drop in fuel consumption, as I tend to use cruise and sit at a constant speed.

IMHO you would be hard pushed to find a better towing vehicle

P38 tows well so the Full Fat should be superb!
Took me a year to find the right P38 (and it is a good one) so will take my time in finding the "right" Supercharged.
Would prefer the 2007 onwards with the cooled seats.
