Tailgate struts ?

When I push the tailgate unlock button on my remote, should the struts have enough 'push' to lift the tailgate on their own ? mine releases, but doesn't lift.. is this how it should be, or should it lift up ?

Thanks, I thought maybe it was supposed to raise all the way up (would be handy if it did)

Unfortunately the point of open/close is when the boot is open around 3-4inches so you need something to open the tailgate that first bit before in can spring upwards... Thumbs Up

I hate the Big Bang on closing the tailgate should be more refined. My dads's 2012 is slightly better.
