Grrr daft thing.

I must destroy the spare key.

Swmbo has been using it to get things out of the car this week. No problem you would think.

Now my seat is in the wrong place, the radio has forgotten the stations again.........

And today after it showing the correct time all day and me only using my key it suddenly decided 5 mins into a journey that it was 7.30 not 3.35........ And started to adjust itself accordingly.

Wtf.

Well at least it gives me something to moan about with it… There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Does your 'normal' key not reset the seat to your position and radio stations back etc?

Open the car with my key and I get my seat position, radio presets etc. open the car with SWMBO's key and she gets her seat position, radio presets etc. 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

Yes i agree something odd.

The spare is unused most of the time and the car will hapillmset itself the settings saved in the spare key but doesnt reset itself to the settings in my key when i get in. Odd.

Maybe ill just swap keys. And set the car up on the other key then i wont notice the difference. Its always done it afaik. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Sussed it. Just needed to program something for the time into the spare key. And preset the radio.

I think the car must get confused if you lock with one key open with another then lock again with the first key...... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The same thing happens to me. No matter how many times I use the spare key, reset the radio and the Sat Nav clock, as soon as I change keys, all the setting are nuked!

strange that it resets the time. does it think the other key holder is in a different time zone...

It sets it to 00:00

It's done it since I've had it. I did post about it once before, but no real answers, so just live with it. I had the car battery replaced in December, as some suggested it could be low voltage, but it still does it.

One of the curious things, is that when I use the spare keys, the radio frequencies are still there, but the RDS (channel name) has gone, and the radio is not tuned to any station.

I did think that it could be down to the handset battery running low, but now I cycle my keys on a fortnightly basis and it still happens.

I guess it's just one of those "Land Rover" things :-{

Will adjust the seat though. Thought i had sussed it but no you are right it keeps resetting the clock to 00.00.

Oh well will just hide the spare key so swmbo cant find it. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I may have found a TSB that covers this.

TSB - LTB00459v3 (19 July 2013) refers to the ".. loss of customer settings for the radio and clock preferences configured by use of specific customer key" and suggests that its a software error that is cleared by connection to SDD.

It requires SDD DVD134.09 and Calibration File 141 or later.

I haven't spoken to my dealer yet, but will do as soon as work permits.

Hope this helps.

you might find the spare key's battery could do with a recharge to help memorise its settings.. ... - .- -.
