it must be me

Guys, I published this 2 months ago on the D3 Forum:

Advice sought from potential Disco 3 owner Report post

Hi All

I am a long term LR owner, Disco I, Disco II and latterly P38 and L322 FFRRs and a TDV8 RRS, I was looking to upgrade my TD6 FFRR and came across a stunning (to me) Buckingham Blue Disco 3, FSH, 09 plate 77K full leather etc, HSE.

Question is, and I know its a bit how long is a piece of string, however my most reliable LR yet was an 01 Disco II V8 and I still have a soft spot for the \Disco. What should I be looking for, is there any major weaknesses? It is a 2.7 TD

Many Thanks

Rosco

Didn't get 1 reply. So despite the cost I am saying with a FF, they are rude Very Happy

Obviously we are better in the art of conversing and taking the proverbial.

Its put me off lesser LR products if their owners cant communicate at my level ( which is not high )

Cheers 2013 L405 Autobiography Baltic Blue

They probably didn't believe that your most reliable land rover had been a disco 2. What are the chances Shocked

Honest feedback though, the answer to your question will have been too long and they couldn't be arsed answering it. The site is full of general answers to the question you asked and people can't be bothered answering the same question repeatedly from new users. Doesn't mean they're all n o b s though Thumbs Up My Previous RR's!

Agreed, just on one ! And Disco II, had it from demo at 2000 miles to about 85000 and no problems, must have been a rogue car Very Happy 2013 L405 Autobiography Baltic Blue

TBH I saw your post on D3 and thought it was way too generic to answer. I used have a TDV8 Vogue SE and now have an 08 D3 V8 HSE.

Honest opinion, you have to really want a feature of the D3 to go back. I miss the FFRR loads but I need the extra space in a D3 and there were no S/C Full-Fats I could find at the time of changing. (not a diesel lover)

You question about Land Rovers and reliability is probably the most daft I've ever seen. EVERYTHING with a green oval, or a black one for that matter, will:
Let oil out
Let water in
Know when you're in a hurry and thus refuse to play ball
Manage to turn a regular service into major surgery
Get on your tits so bad you'll want to burn it some days

AND........
Get into your blood so you are powerless to resist it's failings. It's like The Borg. Resistance is futile. Mr. Green

Not replying to your post isn't rude, do you think that maybe people simply didn't see it?

You got replies after a bump - perhaps worth doing a bit earlier?
