to have a load cover or not to have one

my recent fullfat purchase had no load cover provided so i thought i would try and find one on ebay etc, but as it turns out i really dont miss it at all..i have an advantage of privacy glass which restricts view plus some old black towels which i place over a box [full of necessary junk like hi-vis jackets etc] and unless you very very closely through the window ,you cant see anything..
not having one also reminded me of the times i had to push the thing to load large objects into the back or totally remove it and try a find somewhere to store it ..now i find things go in nicely without that hassle...
thoughts fellow fatties.. ... - .- -.

I like the load cover as I can drop my hat on it. I have an old black hard shell suitcase in the back to store all the crap I insist on carrying around (tool box, compressor, emergency triangle etc. etc. etc.). That also works really well for keeping stuff out of sight, plus the spaces around the spare wheel are filled with crap (safety shoes, coverall, rags etc.).

I just like the look of the cover, makes it tidier but you're right, the privacy glass makes it superfluous for protecting it against unwanted looks. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I think load cover is a must and dealer should have made sure it was there...

I must say mine spends as long standing on it's edge in the garage as it does in the car, as the dog prefers to be able to see out Laughing and it's an awkward pain of a thing to store (I'm always worried about snapping a lug off).

So really Stan, it can be a pain if you have one and it can be a pain if you don't. HTH! Rolling with laughter

I have one but transport the dog in the back so I have taken it out. When I didn't have privacy glass, I would constantly shuffle it in and out of the car. I now just leave it out all the time.

Both my range rovers never had it when I bought them, I don't think there worth having if you've got window tints and there is no way I would pay £250 for one as seen on eBay

I have one and don't place a hat on it. I have privacy glass. I don't have a dog.

I like having one, although I don't have a use for it. But its absence would simply bug me. Si. <This is my name.

When I viewed mine before buying it, there was no parcel shelf and I asked about it. The salesman, who, it later transpired, was either educationally subnormal or an inveterate liar, told me it was "away for valeting", like you do, with just a parcel shelf Rolling Eyes Anyway, in the end I went to pick the "returned from valeting" shelf and it was nicely packed up and properly sealed in a genuine LR carton with LR-branded sealing tape, and when I took it out, well whaddya know, it looked JUST like a brand new one. Laughing I'm rather pleased to hear that it may have cost him £250 or more!

Same as Bellini above. I have tints and always use the load cover. I think it might be a bit quieter as a result. It would also bug me not using something that is supposed to be there. Perhaps we should use the same analyst Whistle 2012 5.0L S/C
