2006 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

Yeah, I'll give Ashcroft a call, they aren't listing anything to do with the LT95 on their site any more but who knows.

End of the day, this is a £2k hobby truck, so I have got to be careful not to overspend on it (as I have a tendency to do!).

Aaargh, now I wish you hadn't said that! That thought did flit through my mind at the weekend. I think that might be quite good. But once again, what do I need - the whole box, which will fit a 3.5 V8 and then propshafts? Chances of my props fitting are pretty slim I should think!

Which box would I go for if I went that route? (having just ordered a bearing and gasket set for the '95 about 5 mins ago Rolling Eyes )

EDIT: Hmmmm again: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...Track=true

Auto is a million times better offload unless you plan to race them then they don't last very long as I've burnt out 8 or 9 zf autos

Zf autos are very good but can't handle the heat that racing puts on them, the last one I had cost £2000 as it was a race box version. You can get flappy paddle controls wired in now,it's the best option for any 3.5-4.6 v8 without spending crazy money

All too confusing!

I've made a snap decision that I'm simply going to replace the input shaft bearing on the original box, then spin it up with the impact wrench and see what it sounds like (I did this with the old bearing in place and the stethoscope screwdriver, so hopefully if there is a difference I'll be able to tell.)

I also recorded the current knackered box at lunchtime, so if I can find anywhere to host it, you can all have a laugh!
