Nick, I have a second hand but 2005 "as new" armature (not been fitted as far as I can see) and removable tow bar and neck sitting in my garage.

That’s the wrong video, that only removes the outer cover of the bumper, no good for fitting a tow bar. The only valid part is pulling the sides out. You don’t need to take the black trim off and the four screws under it, nor the screws along the underneath. Instead you need to lift the spare wheel cover, remove the locker covers either side of the boot, where all the electrics are, then the floor trims either side to get at the four bumper bolts at each side ,8 in total and remove their 16mm nuts. The whole bumper then comes off in one piece (the bit he removed and the bit he left) there’s a much better video on here somewhere, I’ll have a look for it. |

You can certainly do it that way but I would argue that you are making an unwieldy item into a heavy unwieldy item.
