The red spoke is supposedly to make it easier to find the valve Shocked

Finally finished the Giant Omnium, I managed to find a mint condition used Zipp Service Course SL Beyond Black 17° stem which looks great and although the steerer needs chopped I don't want to do that until my fractured T4 is fully mended. I went with a Ritchey alloy one piece seatpost for strength even though I would have preferred the Zipp to match the stem, sadly at almost £100 for the seapost that was a bit too expensive.

I've not been able to use this since my fracture as the stretch from the saddle to the handlebars was too long and caused lots of pain, so tonight I swallowed a few pain killers and went for a ride on the Paul Donohue built 853 tonight.

Went to visit Dad, who's 77 and rather disappointed too many people were leaving him behind on cycle excursions. Sad
He just bought a Benelli Classica electric bicycle. Despite only Italian directions, we got it put together with no bits left over. It looks like a lot of fun, and has a powerful motor. Very Happy
It's got a very nice, classic look, but that extends to the old school leather seat. I recommended he may want to swap it with the gel seat on his other bicycle. On the down side, it's a heavy beast. I hope that won't be a problem as it's role will be low speed on-road touring. Here's a photo...

He's got a second for his SWMBO but that one is staying in the box until they're sure it's the right bike for them.

Been a few weeks since I updated this and things are getting better, sort of...

The bad news is I've had my bone density scan and it's been confirmed I have severe osteoporosis in my spine, I will be on medication for the next 5 years to sort it out, so there could be good news sometime in the distant future. Confused

I've managed to do my first Strava Gran Fondo (130k) since my fracture so things are improving and today I did a nice 63 miles with 5600 feet of elevation, and beat the other cyclists I was with to the top of the climbs...my bad Whistle Laughing Laughing

Managed a few laps on the velodrome today, first time I've tried this bike since building it.
Just requires the saddle adjusted slightly and it will be perfect

What are you planning going for Graham?

Still not pushing myself too hard at the moment, a steady 22.1mph on the track this morning for an hour.
