Stranded dolphin rescued by family on beach day out.

My family & I were on a cruise.On the way into Puerto Rico we spotted two dolphins playing at the side of our ship and my wife commented on how nice it was to see this.They stayed there for at least twenty minutes.

On our arrival in Puerto Rico we left the ship and walked into the old town,at the end of the walkway was a statue with many different characters,two of them were playing dolphins!

Upon reading the plaque attached to this piece of art it stated that visitors may see two dolphins playing and swimming upon arrival into the port,these dolphins legend has it if you see them will bring you happiness and safety.

It was a very surreal moment as we stood there reading that plaque & realising that this had indeed happened to us.....the plaque was placed along with the statue over 100 years ago!

Amazing but true!  If you have nothing nice to say,say nothing at all.

I was told that if you're in dolphin territory, then you're much more likely to see a pair than a single dolphin or even a group.

Male dolphins usually form pair bonds for extended periods - not sure why

A calf will stay with its mother for quite a while too.
