As you are not going to have a caravan you have no need for the white plug, and one looks neater than 2.
However if you are going to be towing the same trailer i would opt to get the 13 pin socket then get an adaptor for a couple of quid to convert it to standard 7 pin. That way you have the best of both worlds, you have the option of the supplementary wiring should you ever require it, and only have one socket visible on the car.
It possible to get an adaptor of ebay for a couple of quid which can be plugged in to the 13 pin to gve you 7n (the
Old style black socket). Or you could swap the connector on your trailer for a 13 pin plug, they give a better connection and are a twist lock design so mane a much more positive coupling.
Either way it makes sense to me to fit it now, when you are doing the job. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
