ABS ECU or something else

Hi All

Got a 2003 Rangie with v8.

Got a CANBUS alarm issue with ABS ECU as one of the listed faults. Thinking it may be the common problem with the bosch ECU after it warms up - it throws up the usual HDC, Trans fail etc alarms. When cold, all alarms are clear, it can take 10-15 mins of running to throw up the fault.

when engine is warmed up, fault persists even after engine off and restart, only cures when it cools down.
I dont have to be driving to generate the fault - engine idling on driveway is enough to throw alarm up after the usual 10-15 mins.

So in my wisdom, i bought a 2nd hand Bosch ECU, when i fitted it, the alarms were instant on the dash.
Is this because:
1) ive been sold an even more Censored ECU than the one i am trying to replace
or 2) the computer needs resetting as its recognised a different ECU?

i put the original ECU back in, and fault cleared, but will reappear after 10-15 mins like before. I am no further forwards....

Any ideas are gratefully received!! FFRR 2003 Vogue V8
