A bit of advise required with regards new purchase

My D3 has conjured up yet another bill for close to 1k, so that would be 7.5k this year alone. As much as I love the vehicle it has to go.

So the SWMBO has decided she would like a FFRR, the problem is which one.

We looked at a 56 plate 4.2 S/C at a main dealer, but she didnt like the interior layout saying it looked like the D3 and we had may as well stick with that. It was also rusty, the rear bumper was sprained out like it had been reversed into something and the drivers door was full of dints and scratches from the seat belt buckle.

So the next options are the face lift models.

She sat in a jan 10 tdv8 vogue se and loved the layout, but it was 35k, there is a 58 plate 4.2 s/c autobiography that is 24k 40 miles away for her to go and look at, but my concern is we will go all that way and she wont like it and we cant get to go and look at it for another couple weeks.

Advise on whether it is worth spending the extra 11k for the 2010 model, it doesnt bother me petrol or deisel.

its best to look at all options before you make a decision, petrol, diesel, facelift ,not facelift etc....drive them all and then in between read the many posts here that other prospective owners have asked .. ... - .- -.

Try them both, but the supercharged is seriously better to drive. I can't imagine you'll want a TDV8 instead if you've no other reason for preference...

Incidentally, I went from D3 to FFRR and back again. Despite its many other attributes, the FF doesn't drive anything like the D3. I thought the TDV8 was disappointing too. Graham

Thanks for the replies guys, I have been looking to buy one for a while now, I would have any facelift version but defo the 4.2 s/c.

My problem is the swmbo, she is very fussy, well when it comes to cars anyway. She likes any of the exteriors, but prefers the interior on the 10 plate, but dont want to spend the extra 11k just for the newer interior.

descisions, decisions, decisions Big Cry

The SWMBO likes the D4, but you don't get the aircon in the back which is what we want, unless you go for the hse lux but they cost alot more than i was wanting to pay.

I find that quite surprising, I don't think any L322 model Range Rover looks like a D3 inside... Discovery 4 HSE

@andy180 - tempting at times, believe me

@RRUK - The main thing she focused on was the sat nav screen, 4x4 info, radio displays which are the same as mine.

Thanks for all you advise guys, I (the wife that is) has decided.

We very nearly ordered a new RRS, till we found out the waiting time Shocked , so we ordered a new D4 HSE with black options pack, as she loves the D3 we have.

One day I will convince her the only car for us is a range rover
