changing the battery

yes....have read the wiki
and in the pictures, there is only a battery in the battery bay.

I have a MY11, and there are some electrical parts in front of the battery mounted onto the front part of the bay. Any idea what these electrical components do, and thoughts about removing them?

could be an auxiliary junction box that receives its main power supply from the battery and provides circuit protection for the glowplug system.... ... - .- -.

Just poured over the + 05 manual. No pictures showing this in place.

The item stan referrs to is stated to be fitted "behind" the battery.

The only other thing there was an image of that looks similar is an ECM (same thing ?)

Advise proceed with caution, move out of the way, although once you have disconnected the battery it should be OK to dismantle to gain access. .

always easy to dismantle...it is the re-assembly !
if you can see on the RH side, there is a red connector switch for the block. there is another one underneath it.
am assuming I just pull the two red levers to disconnect the blocks?

have I got something unusual here on my MY11 - or can other MY11 and MY12 owners confirm if they have the same kit in the battery bay.

i do recall a year or so ago when LR fixed my battery and FBH problems, they told me they had installed a level battery management system.....could this be it?
