Yokohama Advan ST Tyres

12 month update:

Horrible horrible cheap junk, soft waggly side walls that look like the tyre is going down all the time. Allied with suspension play I have to keep a sick bucket if I'm heading cross country.

Will be swapping them soon when cash allows.

Yeuch.

These are 20" im betting being that your in an SC?

Are you looking to move to goodyear Eagles next? I rated them well on other performance cars even though their wear rate is high the grip and handling was worth it! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Ki KP, yep, 20"

That's intriguing will take a look at them, I'd previously considered Wintracs all year but they seem to have increased a load in price!

You could pick up some used pairs at the moment with it being summer the prices would be lower as well Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I've got Michelin Diamaris on the TDV8 and have to say I think its one of the best tyres I've run, very quiet and smooth and never had any issues on road or offroad.

They are damned expensive though! Discovery 4 HSE

Thanks Adam. Starting to thing that I paid £200 per tyre for the Yokos and they are that nasty I want them off- makes them pretty expensive.

Had some Contis before that for 3 years and aside from the usual scrubbing on the outer front they wore well.

just a thought, if you paid £800 for 4 tyres would it not be better to buy a set of wheels/tyres for around that price then sell your old combo... ... - .- -.

Another vote for the excellent Diamari's. I had them on my old '02 and they were excellent.

My S/C has Conti's on the rear which are also showing the classic pronounced shoulder wear with some minor tread cracking, so I'm replacing them with Pirelli's tomorrow. I have Pirelli Scorpion's on the front and they appear pretty good from the limited mileage I've done on them. Si. <This is my name.

Thanks Stan, Decent thought.

How much are matches these days? (ref suspension post)

Think I may have fallen out of love with it. Yawn Big Cry Twisted Evil Neutral I was feeling quite enthused by getting it all ship shape again.

Thanks all for the great advice! Thumbs Up

Yokohoma Advans are terrible on heavier cars. I swapped mine for Pirelli Scorpions and I'm amazed at what they handle.

Used only Conti sport contacts or Scorpions on 20" wheels. Now on 22's and Toyos which are remarkable in grip and handling. TDV8 Vogue SE 2009.
