Lpg mpg

Hi
I have recently bought a 2002 4.4 with lpg fitted.
I filled with gas from completely empty to full and set off driving till tank was empty.
I filled up with 68litres of gas and did 160miles
160/68=2.35 miles per litre
2.35*4.55=10.69 miles per gallon.
Is this about right the on board computer says 16.8mpg I know lpg is worse but this seems low.
What's everyone else getting

160 miles does seem a little low, but it all depends on your driving style. If you've a heavy right foot then it could be right. But if you "drive like Miss Daisy" then you probably should be getting nearer 180 to the tank Wink

I get 72 litres from empty into my tank and that lasts for about 200 miles driving around town (normally short journeys too). However, on a run to the Cotswolds last week I got 220 miles from a full tank (averaging 70-80mph) which is the most I have ever got. So mine equates to about 13-14mpg, and at 66p/p/l (i.e. half the price of petrol) that works out at 26-28mpg in petrol terms! Which I'm very happy with. Smile

My on board computer also says about 17mpg, so using the 80% efficiency rule, 13-14mpg is bang on. Thumbs Up

You need to check when it was last serviced as the filters (there are two of them) may need replacing - you can do that yourself, I did. Also, I found a tiny leak at one of the pipe joints near the injectors. Spray a mild solution of washing up liquid and water over the joints and watch for bubbles! Alternatively, if you're not comfortable with doing any of the above, get it booked in for a service asap. It costs about £80-£100 at any reputable LPG installer.

Hope that helps Thumbs Up Cheers

Greg

Cheers Greg
I will get it booked in I think.
I would be ok doing the work but I don't have any certificates for the install and if the service it they can sign it off for me.

The mileage I have done is a mixture of motorway and urban but I do have a heavy foot.
Time to start wearing plimsolls Laughing

I get 200-220 miles from c. 72L at 67p/ltr

i work it out by dividing the cost of the fill up by the miles to get cost per mile. This is anything from 22-25p per mile which with petrol at £1.34 per litre makes it 25-28 MPG

OBD says 17 MPG

My supercharged will do about 14MPG on a decent run (on LPG) around town it normally returns about 11 - 12 on LPG

When I have checked it on a decent journey and get 14 - 15 on LPG, the reset OBC normally shows about 19 which is approx 75% and seems about right. Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

I get about 2.8 miles to the litre: rechecked when I filled up and it's 2.9

Just bought my L322 last week and I seem to be getting between 2.6 miles around town and 3 miles to the litre on the motorway. Reading this thread, I guess this is about right, @ 12-14mpg on lpg. This is on a BRC lpg system.

On a good motorway run, I'm getting the equivalent of 16mpg with my lpg set up which means a range of 240 on a tankful. This drops to around 215 around town. I had my kit fitted by North West Gases, St Helens and was the second vehicle they did for me. Very knowledgeable and as well as converting, they service lpg systems as well.

I just calculated mine, I get between 220 and 240 miles per 70 litres dependent on journey types so between 3.1 and 3.4 miles per litre. 03 4.4 V8 petrol / lpg. 1st of many hopefully. I love my Rangie

Dood, you have a Rangie, You don't buy a Rangie to calculate the fuel efficiency that's what Prius owners do!!!
