I have eventually swapped my trusty old iPhone 3G (not even a 3GS) for a shiny new Nokia 925. I've paired it up with the Bluetooth so the phone works, but it doesn't want to connect via USB so that I can play the music on it.

Am I missing something or doesn't it work that way?

I have a 2012 Westminster.

By "yours", I assume you mean the Rangie rather than the phone. It works with my old iPhone and iPad, albeit via the dedicated cable, so I would expect the Nokia to do it at least via the USB port if not Bluetooth.
The phone is running Windows 8.1, so the phone is certainly capable.
