"special operations off"

Hi all
Every now and again I get this message when I start the car, it's done it since I've had the car, I cannot find anything about it in the handbook, any one know what it's about?
I have not adjusted ride height, or terrain response before hand, just curious as to what it means.
Steve

Yeah Gaz. Helpful as always Sir. Funny as hell though.

So, "Special Programs Off" is the terrain response. If you see that at startup it's odds on the battery is below par. Either a lot of short runs or on its way out.

Definitely don't deliver any milk tray if you get that warning.

I had this error, typically along with the Air Suspension Fault message.

The fix was the compressor exhaust/filter/dryer kit the dealers can fit.

Not too expensive to have a dealer fix (Had no time to do it myself but I know other have doe it themselves on here) Discovery 4 HSE

I got it just before the car went into limp mode - restart and it was fine for a while then did it again, usually under acceleration.

Turned out to be a split turbo hose - cost about £30 Thumbs Up

My 07 tdv8 started this gag last year, no other issues or any thought of battery issue, then battery went flat. Changed it and never had it back on since so in my case was a battery needing replaced. These cars seems to chew through batteries relatively speaking. 4 years seems to be best to hope for from my research.
