Torque Converter signs of problems, should I change gearbox?

So I am now getting the early signs that the Torque Converter is on its way out, hesitant gearing and light vibration between 30-50 mph. My gearbox is original and has now done over 136k miles so it has lasted well to get this far.

Since the costs to replace the TC will be substantial is it worth getting the whole transmission done at the same time, or should it be ok if undamaged by the TC failing.

I would not want to fork out for the TC work only to have the transmission fixed a few months down the line doubling the labour costs. Tom

This is a good one for RRPhil. I suggest to do a full refurb because I am expecting that crap has moved through the hydraulics for a while. Also the GM box mechatronic is known to be prone to issues (soft metal) so it wouldn't surprise me that it will be the next part of the box going.

I understand full well the cost implications of doing the whole box (or replacing it with a reconned box) but at 136k it did very well and the box is probably "tired" all over and the TC is just the first part showing that. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
